Services

Children & Youth:
First off, sessions with children and youth need to incorporate fun. Children and youth are dynamic humans that require a slightly different approach. I incorporate play, activity, art and nature into my sessions with children/youth as movement and activities assist children/youth in working through emotions and the “the tough stuff”. I also engage young people by incorporating their interests into the sessions and interventions. Possible areas of focus are anxiety, depression, challenging behaviours, self-harm and identity issues. I have experience working with children on the Autism Spectrum Disorder, Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, ADHD and experiences of trauma.

Individuals:
Over the years I have worked with adults to help manage and cope with anxiety, depression, communication challenges, self-identity/self-worth, anger management and relationships. I believe that change is most effective when honouring your strengths while working through small manageable steps. I provide honesty and clarity in identifying strengths, patterns and solutions. I also believe that the healing process can incorporate humour and that your session should be one that you look forward to. While sessions may be deep and insightful they should also be healing and end carrying out hope and optimism as you will have a clearer path/plan forward.

Couples:
Relationships are hard, they require energy, focus and maintenance. This can quickly become forgotten with the demands of busy lives. When working with couples I believe that both parties have to be engaged and feel heard for the relationship to grow. I provide a safe space to discuss hard issues using simple yet effective communication techniques to move from being “stuck” to moving forward as a “team”. Our goal is not to create an absence of problems but for you both to gain the skills to work through problems together.
